Entering the digital realm for the first time, the Catholic Directory for the Diocese of Buffalo is now available entirely online as a free PDF document at http://www.buffalodiocese.org/directory and via the menu sidebar or Parishes tab on the Diocesan website. Anyone connected to the Internet now has access at no cost to the valuable contact and statistical information contained in the Diocesan Directory.
While a physical book will no longer be sold, the new digital version of the Directory has several advantages never possible with the print edition. In addition to retaining the convenient bookmarking feature of the former tabs, it is now completely searchable from within the free Adobe Reader application which is the best way to view the Directory.
Another primary advantage of the digital edition is being able to keep it continually updated. Approximately once a month any new information received by the Office of Communications will be corrected in the PDF document thereby providing an online Directory that is essentially always up to date.
Several helpful options are also available on our website for those who would like to print a copy and continue to have a paper book. Even these users will benefit from having to print only the pages that are updated in order to have the most current version. Information about which pages are updated will be posted once a month at http://www.buffalodiocese.org/directory so users know what to reprint.
While a more comprehensive annual update will continue to be undertaken each fall, parishes, offices and other organizations and institutions are encouraged to contact the Office of Communications whenever they have any information to be updated in the Directory, either by email to comm@buffalodiocese.org or at 716-847-8719.
