The St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute Alumni Association is pleased to announce that the 37th Annual St. Joe's Bob Ivory '47 5K Run will take place on Sunday, Nov. 1. The race will begin promptly at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, located at 845 Kenmore Avenue. A USA Track & Field Sanctioned Event, the course is USAT&F certified.

"For more than 30 years, the entire St. Joe's community has come together to recognize Coach Bob Ivory for his many contributions to St. Joe's. During the 1960's and 1970's, he led the track and cross country teams to countless local and national victories, coaching, mentoring, and providing meaningful support to these young men in the best traditions of our school," said Bob Ivory Run Chairman Donald McMahon '70. "The results of his work are evident today, and we hope the community will join our students, faculty and alumni as we run in this Turkey Trot "tune-up" event, to raise critical funds for future St. Joe's students."

The St. Joe's Bob Ivory '47 5K Run will start in front of St. Joe's on Kenmore Avenue (between Colvin and Starin) and proceed West to Colvin, North to Highland, East to Englewood, East to Hartford, Hartford South, and finishing on the St. Joe's track. Hundreds will participate in the annual event, including the 75 members of the St. Joe's Hockey Team.

The fee for registration, which includes a gift for all registrants, refreshments following the race and premium raffle prizes, is $18 pre-registered, $23 the day of the race and $15 for students age 18 and under. Day of race registration and pick-up will commence at 7:30 a.m. in the St. Joe's school gym and participants are asked to utilize the parking lot entrance behind the school.

All race proceeds will go to the St. Joe's Alumni Association Endowment Fund to provide tuition support for students.

The St. Joe's Bob Ivory '47 5K Run will include awards to the following classifications: First Male & Female Overall; First Three St. Joe's Students; First Three St. Joe's Alumni; Awards to the First Three Males & Females in  the following age categories: 14 and under, 15-19, 20 - 24, 25 - 29, 30 - 34, 35 - 39, 40 - 44, 45 - 49, 50 - 54, 55- 59, 60 - 64, 65 - 69, 70 - 74, 75 - 79, 80 - 84, 85 - 89.  The award presentation will take place following the race in the St. Joe's gymnasium.
