Daybreak TV Productions, the television component of the Diocese of Buffalo's Office of Communications, has announced special programming that will air on WKBW-TV Channel 7 during the month of December.
Saturday, Dec. 12, 5:30 a.m. and noon - "Our Daily Bread: Advent" This encore presentation of Daybreak's monthly cooking show features Father Paul D. Seil whipping up some holiday goodies. Father Jack Ledwon, pastor of St. Joseph University Parish in Buffalo, joins him in the kitchen as they discuss Advent.
Sunday, Dec. 13, 12:30 p.m. - "Legacy of Victory: Remembering Father Baker" This 90-minute documentary looks at the life and accomplishments of this extraordinary man whose charity and service to others continue to impact lives today.
Sunday, Dec. 20, 12:30 p.m. - "Diocesan Christmas Special" Father Paul D. Seil and Bishop Richard J. Malone talk about this most holy time of the year.
Friday, Dec. 25, 6 a.m. - "Joy to the World, Christmas Mass" Bishop Richard J. Malone celebrates this Mass at the Mercy Center Chapel of the Sisters of Mercy in South Buffalo. The choirs from Mount Mercy Academy, Buffalo, and St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, Kenmore, are featured. The Mass was recorded in 2014.
Friday, Dec. 25, noon - "The First Christmas" Bishop Richard J. Malone introduces "The First Christmas" and will offer a Christmas blessing at the conclusion of the show. "The First Christmas" is a Claymation tale of the timeless Nativity story written in the Gospels of Luke and Matthew. This presentation, narrated by Christopher Plummer, was produced by The Christophers in association with Billy Budd Films and was funded by the Catholic Communication Campaign.
