St. Joseph University Parish in Buffalo has been helping raise awareness and provide education about the issue of human trafficking since 2011.  It is estimated that 12.3 million men, women and children around the world are in trafficking situations and at least 15,000 people are trafficked in the United States every year.  

St. Joseph University Parish invites all to learn more about the issue of human trafficking. The parish will present a panel discussion on Wednesday, May 11, at 7 p.m. that will include Judge Amy Martoche from the Buffalo City Court; Ryan Haggert, the Erie County Assistant. District Attorney; and Todd Bunnenburg the Victim Assistance Specialist at I.C.E.  The discussion will take place in the St. Joseph University Parish Community Room.

The panel will discuss human trafficking in Western New York, what the legal and court systems are doing about the issue, and ways to recognize risk factors and signs of human trafficking.
