TONAWANDA — All are invited to attend two programs offered at St. Christopher Parish to bring people closer to the true meaning of the Advent and Christmas seasons.
On Sunday, Dec. 11, at 7 p.m. in the church, many members of the parish will offer a Lessons and Carols service, with several lectors proclaiming the scripture. Musical responses are planned for each reading featuring celebration bells, soloist Connor Rosenecker, Ben and Sarah Hoppe, as well as selections offered by parish musical groups Acclamation and Voice of Faith. The parish's parochial vicar, Father Suresh Yamarthy, will also tell attendees of a Christmas custom from his childhood in India.
On Sunday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m., the parish will be hosting the Varsity Singers from St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute in Kenmore, under the direction of Michael Hooker, who will sing a concert of Advent and Christmas religious music, carrying us through the fourth Sunday of Advent. A free will offering will be taken for this program. All are invited and welcomed.
