Ladies of Charity, a volunteer organization affiliated with Catholic Charities of Buffalo, will hold its inaugural Party Saturday fundraising event Saturday, April 14, at Catholic Charities, 75 Caldwell Place, Lackawanna.
The event will be fashioned as a gift card raffle, with at least 10 rounds of gift cards being raffled off. Party Saturday is taking the place of the Ladies' former major fundraiser, the Bellringer Auction and Luncheon. Proceeds from the event will support programs offered through Ladies of Charity.
"The proceeds of the Party Saturday fundraiser will support the many ministries of the Ladies of Charity," said Kathleen Sieracki, president of the Buffalo Association of the Ladies of Charity. "The ministries include clothing and household goods for people recovering from crisis, layettes, First Communion clothing, school supplies and Christmas gifts for children and homebound adults."
Doors will open at 11 a.m., with the first drawing taking place at noon. Admission is $10 presale and $12 at the door, and includes two slices of pizza and a drink. Patrons are welcome to bring additional snacks, but no alcohol will be permitted. Each gift card raffle round will cost $2 per entry. Gift cards being raffled off include: $100 from Colvin Cleaners, $50 from Tops, $50 from Wegmans, $40 MasterCard and a wide variety of $25 gift cards.
In addition to the gift card raffles, there will also be a basket raffle and a split club. Gift card and basket donations of a minimum value of $25 are gratefully being accepted.
