TONAWANDA — Julia Dunn, a sophomore at Cardinal O'Hara High School, will perform Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana" on a concert program May 12 and 13 with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of JoAnn Falletta.

The concert is part of the BPO/BPC High School Affiliates Program. Through the program, Dunn works with professional vocalists under the direction of Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus director Adam Luebke.

Colin Sperrazza, choral and voice director at Cardinal O'Hara, nominated Dunn to perform with the BPO.

"I recommended Julia for this honor because she is highly involved in the vocal music world, actively singing with the ABC Bel Canto Choir and always willing to take on any performing opportunity which is sent her way," Sperrazza said.

"When approached with the idea of performing with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus, Julia was interested from day one. Since the first rehearsal with BPC, Julia has had nothing but great things to say about the experience and it is certain that she is greatly looking forward to the concerts in May," Sperrazza added.

Dunn is the daughter of Edward and Cynthia Dunn of Cheektowaga.

Performance times are 8 p.m. May 12 and 2:30 p.m. May 13. Tickets are available through the Kleinhans Music Hall Box Office and online at bpo.org/events.
