EAST AURORA — Christ the King Seminary has announced its Summer 2019 Dinner Lecture Series to be held on the East Aurora campus. The dates, topics and presenters follow:

Wednesday, June 26: "The Throne of Grace: Artistic Images of the Trinitarian Journey of Humanity into the Heart of God," presented by Rev. Xavier Seubert, OFM.
The Gnadenstuhl, or Throne of Grace, is a symbol depicting the Trinity and the core of salvation. Participants will explore how these artistic images represent the Trinitarian movement into humanity and its history through Christ, and the return movement of human nature into the heart of the Father's love through Christ and in the Spirit.

Wednesday, July 10: "A Pilgrimage with Christ to the Father: The Many Figures of Jesus in the Writings of Pope Francis," presented by Dr. Eric Mabry.
 A careful reflection on Pope Francis' teaching reveals not only a profound and multifaceted Christology, but also his personal and intimately familiar friendship with Jesus. Dr. Mabry and those attending will examine the various "faces" of Christ as presented by the pope and how his teachings invite participants into a deeper understanding and greater love of the Lord.

Wednesday, July 24: "Rejoice and Be Glad," presented by Deacon Donald Weigel.
Participants will learn how Pope Francis provided a meditation responding to Christ's invitation to be saints through his most recent apostolic exhortation to "rejoice and be glad!" The pope believed every person has been called to a unique vocation by God. Participants will discuss what holiness looks like in their everyday lives; what attitudes and virtues help respond to the call of Jesus to be "perfect;" and how to deal with the tension between "everyday holiness" and avoiding mediocrity.
Dinner for each of the three programs begins at 5:45 p.m. in the main dining room on the seminary's East Aurora campus, followed by the lectures from 6:45-8:45 p.m. The cost is $35 per person for dinner and the lecture, and $25 for the lecture only. Registration is required and dinner reservations are kindly requested two days in advance. Lecture-only reservations can be made up to the day of the event.
