Father Stachowiak reappointed to Resurrection in new assignments

The Diocese of Buffalo announced a new round of clergy assignments, including two reappointments.

Father Conrad P. Stachowiak was reappointed to a second term of six years as pastor of Resurrection Parish, Cheektowaga.  Ordained in 1974, Father Stachowiak previously served as parochial vicar at St. Adalbert, Buffalo; St. Josaphat, Cheektowaga; and Our Lady Help of Christians, Cheektowaga.  He was pastor of St. Augustine, Depew, from 1997-2009 and also served chaplain at St. Mary's School for the Deaf and as director of deaf ministry. 

Father Stachowiak is a graduate of Bishop Turner High School, Buffalo.  He holds a bachelor's degree in philosophy, a master's degree in divinity and a master's degree in deaf education.

Father David E. Tourville was reassigned to a second term as parochial vicar at St. Mary of the Angels Parish, Olean, for a term of three years.  Father Tourville, who was ordained in 2009, was first assigned to St. Mary's in 2012, after having served for three years at St. John the Baptist Parish, Kenmore.

Entering the seminary after more than 25 years of working in the food service industry, Father Tourville entered the seminary in his 40s.  He studied at Wadham's Hall Seminary College, Ogdensburg, and Canisius College, Buffalo, where he earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy.

Deacon Michael L. Anderson was named temporary pastoral administrator of Our Lady of Peace Parish, Salamanca.  He has been a permanent deacon for more 16 years.  Father F. Patrick Melfi, the parish's former pastor, was assigned to Christ the King Seminary in East Aurora in the spring.
