New clergy assignments for late October announced

Bishop Richard J. Malone has announced the following new clergy assignments.   

Father James W. Hartwell was reappointed pastor of St. Michael Parish, Warsaw for a second term of three years.  Father Hartwell, who was first assigned to St. Michael's in 2009, served as parochial vicar at Infant of Prague, Cheektowaga, following his ordination in 2002, and later held the same position at Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Orchard Park.

Father Michael J. Parker was reappointed pastor of St. John the Baptist Parish, Kenmore, for a second term of six years.  In the 32 years he has been a priest, Father Parker has been assigned to parishes in Erie, Chautauqua and Allegany counties.  He has served at Our Lady of Victory Basilica, Lackawanna; Nativity of Our Lord, Orchard Park; St. Amelia, Tonawanda,; St. Mary, Mayville; St. Isaac Jogues, Sherman; SS. Brenda and Jude, Alfred-Almond; and St. Hyacinth, Dunkirk.  He also was director of the Newman Center at the State University of New York at Fredonia.  

Father Mark Itua, a native of Nigeria, was named parochial vicar at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, Harris Hill, and St. Lawrence and St. Martin de Porres parishes in Buffalo.  This is a three-year term.  Father Itua attended the seminary in Nigeria and was ordained in 2006.  He came to the United States in 2012 and studied at St. John's University in Queens in the Diocese of Brooklyn before coming to the Diocese of Buffalo.  Prior to his new assignment, he served as temporary parochial vicar at Queen of Martyrs Parish, Cheektowaga. 

Father Justus Ndyamukama was named diocesan director for the Pontifical Mission Societies with residence at St. Rose of Lima Parish, Buffalo.  Father Ndyamukama came to the United States from Tanzania, East Africa, where he was raised and attended the seminary in 2011.  Among his assignments in Tanzania were serving as pastor for six years and as vice rector of the junior seminary for four years.  Father Ndyamukama graduated from D'Youville College, Buffalo, in December 2014 with a master's degree in education. 

Father Joseph S. Rogliano, pastor of both St. Mark and St. Rose of Lima parishes in North Buffalo since 2010, was given the additional responsibility as vicar forane for the Northwest-Central Buffalo Vicariate, a group of 21 parishes, for a term of three years.  Ordained in 1985, Father Rogliano had also served as pastor at St. Anthony and St. Joseph parishes, Lockport, and Fourteen Holy Helpers Parish in West Seneca.  His previous assignments were as parochial vicar at St. Bernadette, Orchard Park; St. Teresa, Buffalo; and St. Gregory the Great, Williamsville. 

Father Eugene P. Ulrich was given the additional responsibility of vicar forane for the Eastern Erie Vicariate for a term of three years.  This vicariate includes parishes in the Alden, Bowmansville, Cheektowaga, Depew, East Aurora, Elma, Lancaster, Orchard Park, Springbrook, West Falls and West Seneca areas.  A priest for 41 years, Father Ulrich has been pastor of Annunciation Parish, Elma, since 2007.  His previous assignments include various parishes throughout the diocese as well as many years in campus ministry at Alfred University and SUNY College of Technology at Alfred.  Father Ulrich also was vicar of campus ministry and episcopal vicar for the Allegany Vicariate. 

Deacon Michael C. Lemieux was named canonical administrator of Northern Chautauqua Catholic School, Dunkirk, for a term of three years.  He was ordained in June 2001 and has served as deacon at St. Joseph Parish, Fredonia, since his ordination.  At Northern Chautauqua Catholic School, Deacon Lemieux is responsible for the Catholicity of the school as well as creating an environment where the Catholic school can thrive.
