Brothers of Mercy will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on the third floor of the Brothers of Mercy Nursing Home, 10570 Bergtold Road, Clarence, on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 10 a.m. The ceremony will recognize the philanthropy of Russ Salvatore in donating 45 televisions to the nursing home's rehabilitation center. Salvatore and local dignitaries including Assemblywoman Jane Corwin will be present. A small reception will follow.
The Brothers of Mercy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center opened in 1973. The Center's administrator, Thomas M. Bloomer, LNHA, recently announced that the facility was awarded a five-star rating overall, the most prestigious award of excellence, from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The ranking is a combination of the Department of Health's annual inspection, resident quality measures and overall staffing and nursing staffing levels. Of the more than 70 nursing homes in Western New York, less than 10 are awarded the five-star ranking, an impressive achievement since Brothers of Mercy is among the area's largest nursing homes.
Brothers of Mercy is a Christian provider of inter-related adult residential, health care and rehabilitative services in Western New York. The campus sits on 126 acres and can serve seniors with all elevations in care necessary to support life changing events.
