Camp Turner, located in Allegany State Park, is a summer resident camp operated by the Catholic Diocese of Buffalo. The camp serves boys and girls ages 7 to 16. The camp strives to foster an emotionally safe culture in which everyone feels welcomed and accepted. Activities at Camp Turner range from horseback riding and hiking to yoga, dance and jewelry making. Older campers can experience a high ropes activity, backpacking trip and special leadership training workshops.
Programming encourages the development of community-living skills, self-care skills, interpersonal skills, values and spirituality with a focus on Catholic identity
This year will mark the opening of the St. Francis Center on the campground. The center will be a site of worship and space for Masses to be held.
An open house and tour is being offered on Saturday, July 8, from 1-3:30 p.m. Tour the cabins and all activity areas, take a horse ride in the corral, shoot a bow, make a craft or take a plant identification hike.
Alumni of Camp Turner are hosting a service weekend from June 9-11. The event is open to all alumni. Room and board provided for a free-will donation and help with service projects. You must RSVP for R&B, but not necessary to just stop in and help. This is an adult only event.
