Southtowns Catholic hires new principal

Southtowns Catholic School of St. John Paul II Parish, Lake View, is pleased to announce the hiring of Marc Bandelian as its new principal effective July 5, 2017.  Bandelian is replacing Mrs. Judith MacDonald who is retiring this summer after serving as principal for the last fifteen years.

Bandelian has served the past six years as the assistant principal of St. Christopher's School in Tonawanda.  Previous to that position, he taught fourth grade at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary School in Clarence, was an adjunct faculty member at Medaille College, and taught third grade in the Cleveland Hill School District.

Bandelian completed the Educational Administration Certification Program at Canisius College, obtained his Masters of Education Degree and his Bachelor's of Science Degree from Medaille College.

He also serves as a volunteer firefighter for the Harris Hill Fire Company and in the past served as a youth minister, softball coach, parish lector, and bowling coach.  He is listed in Who's Who Among Teachers and has received the 2006 Firefighter of the Year Award from the Harris Hill Fire Company and also the Educator of the Week Award from WGRZ-Channel 2.

Bandelian and his wife have two children and live in Clarence.

He brings his experience and knowledge along with energy and enthusiasm to Southtowns Catholic School.  The Southtowns Catholic School Community and St. John Paul II Parish welcome him with joy and with our prayers.  Over the summer, there will be opportunities for school families and parishioners to meet and welcome him. The welcome events will be announced as soon as details are confirmed.

Southtowns Catholic School is a STREAM School within the Diocese of Buffalo with grades from Pre-K (3 & 4 year olds) through 8th grade. The school is located at 2052 Lakeview Road in Lake View.
