The need for blood doesn't end with a particular season. By contributing to the community blood supply donors can show their commitment to a better quality of life. While one unit may not seem important at this moment, it could mean the difference between life and death to the patient who needs a particular blood type.
Blood comes from only one source, people who are willing to spend about an hour to give of themselves for a blood donation. This selfless act can have such a positive impact on improving the lives of others.
Many Catholic institutions and organizations will hold blood drives in the next few weeks. Why not help the Red Cross by stopping by to donate blood or, schedule a blood drive for your institution or organization? Dates and times are subject to change.
