This month on "Our Daily Bread," host Father Paul D. Seil is out of his kitchen and traveling to 208 Stanislaus St., on Buffalo's East Side, to cook in and learn more about the Mother Teresa Home, which has been open for a little over a year now.
Cheryl Calire, executive director of the Mother Teresa Home, lives at and runs this safe haven for women who have chosen life. While at the house, women have the opportunity to prepare themselves to become mothers through a variety of resources the home has to offer.
"The overall desire is to be able to have women who have chosen life, or are on the fence about choosing life because of finances or other personal issues, to have a place where they can stay, a sanctuary of sorts," Calire said. This house is not merely a ministry for Cheryl and her husband, David; it is a way of life. Living alongside these women, they become teachers, role models and confidants.
To learn more about the Mother Teresa Home, tune in to "Our Daily Bread" Saturday, April 14, at 6:30 a.m. and noon on WKBW-TV Channel 7. The menu will be inspired by the produce harvested from the garden at the house.
