After receiving an abuse complaint against Father Arthur S. Smith, of Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta Parish in Depew, Bishop Richard J. Malone has placed Father Smith on administrative leave as an investigation continues. Bishop Malone has also placed Father Samuel J. Venne on administrative leave after receiving an abuse complaint. Father Venne is a retired priest serving at St. Stephen's Parish on Grand Island.
