So far this summer I have been at home most of the time helping around the house because of my broken collarbone. This has given me time to reflect on my past year with Youth Board and school to find things I could have done better or did not do. With applications for colleges and deadlines coming closer stress is building up but I know everything will work itself out in the end.

During late July and early August, I will be helping my parish with its Bible camp, a week where kids in our parish study the Scriptures. Then we apply what we learn to our day-to-day lives. This year the theme is Digging for Treasure, which I am very excited about because every year I learn a new aspect or view to look at my faith.

I also am participating in Journeys End which is a weeklong camp where kids from the city go to Beaver Island. There they get a chance to learn skills and experience something which they normally don't get to see.

I have always loved helping those who are less fortunate by doing anything I can to make their lives better. I believe that my ambition for doing these programs comes from my faith. At a young age I was taught morals and developed my faith from my parents who gave me a strong foundation to strengthen and form my faith even more.
