Mrs. Tristian D'Angelo, principal of Notre Dame Academy, in South Buffalo, New York, has been selected as one of the honorees of the 62nd Judge John D. Hillery Memorial Scholarship Foundation. For more than half a century, this foundation has provided scholarships for students attending Bishop Timon- St. Jude High School. Since its inception over 2,000 students have been helped by this foundation.
Mrs. D'Angelo is being honored for her
exemplary Franciscan spirit, dedication and commitment to the South Buffalo
community. "We have a unique
situation in South Buffalo where all Catholic Schools and Parishes work
together for the betterment of our community, and Notre Dame works closely
with Bishop Timon-St. Jude High School as our students participate in the
Franciscan Leadership Program and accelerated math program," explains Mrs.
D'Angelo.
"It's such a great feeling to be recognized for doing something I love,
and I am so grateful for this honor alongside these other amazing
educators. I have been a part of the South Buffalo community for my
entire career, and it's a joy seeing the children of former students at Notre
Dame. The fact that those students also see the value in a Catholic
education for their children gives me great pride."

Fellow honorees include Dennis DePerro, President St. Bonaventure University, Tim Kelly, Superintendent of St. Mary's School for the Deaf, Terry Schuta, Principal at South Park High School, Christopher Rusin, Teacher at Bishop Timon, St. Jude and Dan Caulfield, long time volunteer at Bishop Timon St. Jude High School.
