Marriage Encounter. Bells are ringing for married couples... not church bells, not school bells, it is the wake-up bell reminding you to go to a Marriage Encounter Weekend. Now is the time to improve communication, re-energize your love and feel closer to your spouse. The next Worldwide Marriage Encounter weekend will be July 31-August 2 at the Quality Inn & Suites, Erie, PA. For more information, call 814-823-4600 or go to http://www.wwme.org.

Grief Support Programs. As part of our commitment to meeting the burial needs of our Catholic community, the Catholic Diocese Cemeteries is honored to continue the care beyond the day of the funeral. We offer grief support programs to those in need, as no one should grieve alone. Since each person experiences grief differently, we offer a wide array of programs, including traditional grief support groups, potluck dinners, social support events and even our Heavenly Hearts Choir. All of our programs are open to the community and most are offered at no charge. For more information, call Nancy Weil, Director of Grief Support, at 716-873-6500.

Teams of Our Lady is a program that seeks to promote authentic married love that not only leads to God but also to a more intimate and enriching relationship with one's spouse. A Team is a group of five to seven couples affiliated with a Catholic priest/chaplain who have freely decided to join together to find support in their efforts to lead Gospel lives. For more information or a brochure, contact Dave & Cheryl Clifford at 716-677-0920 or email thetaximom82@yahoo.com.

Catholic Charities Immigration and Refugee Assistance Program. As we celebrate the independence of our country, the approximate 600 refugees Catholic Charities resettles each year are celebrating freedom from regimes or insurgents that seek to torture, imprison or kill them. Our diocese offers a safe haven to refugees through the Catholic Charities Immigration and Refugee Assistance Program. Here they find shelter, food, clothing, and a second chance for a new life. For more information on how you might help welcome a stranger, call 716-842-0270. Find Catholic Charities at http://www.ccwny.org.

Give the Gift of True Love! Heart to Heart PAIRS workshops help both men and women learn the tools to communicate skillfully, to problem solve constructively, and to build lasting love in their relationships with their spouse and children. For more information, contact Dan & Irma at 716-652-1203 or email hearttoheartworkshops@yahoo.com.

Marriage Moment. "Why are you terrified?" (Mk. 4:40) What terrifies you about your marriage? Infidelity? Loss of income? Lack of intimacy? Harm coming to your beloved? Your beloved's death? Find a safe time and talk it over.

Parenting Perspective. There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children. One of these is roots, the other is wings. If your life is rooted in faith, let your child see it. If your child takes a different path, believe that the Spirit will take care of him or her. As a parent of adult children, your job is to let go but not give up.

God Knows Parenting is a Wild Ride! If you ever wished for practical tools, resources, skill-building techniques, and lots more, one of these free parenting packets is designed just for you. Parenting Packet I: addresses the basic tough tasks of raising children in today's world. Parenting Packet II: is for those separated or divorced. Focuses on positive ways to co-parent well in order to help children of all ages who are profoundly affected by their parents' divorce deal with the pain and upheaval in their lives. Parenting Packet III: death and grief are inescapable. If you feel ill-prepared to discuss death with a child, you are not alone. This packet offers useful tools from preschool through teens. For your free packet, please call the Office of Family Life Ministries at 716-847-2210 or email familylife@buffalodiocese.org.
