Harmonia Chamber Singers will have local concerts on Dec. 11, 17 and 18.

The Harmonia Chamber Singers will present their annual Christmas concert, featuring music from the Medieval period through the present, throughout the Diocese of Buffalo this Christmas season. In what has become a beautiful musical tradition, they will perform the works of Handel, Gesualdo, Sweelinck, Ives, Warlock, Daley, Gjeilo and Rockapella. Classics such as "Away in a Manger," "Coventry Carol," "Bethlehem Down," "The Huron Carol," "Hodie Christus natus est," "Infant Holy, Infant Lowly" and "Christmas Without You." Also, in connection with the Permanent Chair of Polish Culture at Canisius College, Harmonia will perform several Polish carols.     

Concerts will take place Sunday, Dec. 11, at 4 p.m. at St. Leo the Great Church, 885 Sweet Home Road, Amherst; Saturday, Dec. 17, 7:30 p.m., at St. Mary of the Cataract Church, 259 Fourth St., Niagara Falls; Sunday, Dec. 18, 4 p.m., at St. Joseph University Church, 3269 Main St., Buffalo. A $15
donation is requested at the door.

The Harmonia Chamber Singers is a professional-caliber a cappella ensemble based in Buffalo, founded by its artistic director, Robert Pacillo. Noted for its innovative programming and stunning performances, Harmonia's literature spans centuries of choral music, from Medieval chant to the present.
