Our Lady of Fatima Shrine's 26th annual Festival of Lights opened on Nov. 26, with an eye towards celebrating the upcoming 100th anniversary of Our Lady's apparitions to the three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal.
This year's theme, "God's Love: From the Star of Bethlehem to the Sun of Fatima." is depicted in the new lighted feature, with images of Our Lady of Fatima and the three children on a backdrop of images of the Star of Bethlehem and the Miracle of the Sun.
The Festival of Lights is open until Jan. 6, 2017, with lights on daily from 5-9 p.m. The Barnabite Fathers are delighted to invite all to come celebrate this special anniversary, beginning with the Festival of Lights and throughout 2017.
Our Lady of Fatima Shrine is located at 1023 Swann Road in Lewiston. Religious articles, gifts and the bookstore are open daily to the public from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
