LACKAWANNA — Our Lady of Victory Homes of Charity has promoted Eileen Hudson, CFRE, to director of Mission Advancement, and promoted Tom Lucia to Director of Annual Giving.
Hudson will provide strategic direction for mission advancement activities across the footprint of OLV organizations including major, planned and corporate foundation fundraising programs that benefit the missions of the Homes of Charity, Baker Victory Services, and OLV National Shrine & Basilica and OLV Elementary. She will oversee the creation of a volunteer advisory committee that will engage and deepen relationships with valued benefactors, and create volunteer opportunities for supporters of the organization. Hudson will also drive strategy relating to the organization's annual "friend-raising" events - Baker Victory Nite and Friends of Father Baker.
Hudson has 30-plus years of experience in advancement, fundraising, sales management and marketing, having previously served as director of Alumni Relations for Canisius College. She also worked for DMG World Media, Adelphia Communications and Cellular One.
She serves on the board of directors of the Association of Fundraising Professionals of Western New York and is a member of the Gerard Place advisory board. She is also a member of the Western New York Planned Giving Consortium and the National Catholic Development Conference.
Hudson earned her bachelor's degree in communications from Canisius College in Buffalo.
As director of Annual Giving, Lucia will lead Homes of Charity's direct-response fundraising efforts, including all direct-mail and e-giving campaigns. He will also lead the organization's Associate Giving Campaign and, oversee donor database management, inbound gift processing, and the work of HOC's donor-services team.
Lucia has worked at the Homes of Charity for a total of 10 years, having served in the public relations/special events department between 1998-2005 and 2015-2016. He assumed the role of HOC's director of Mail Operations in 2016.
Lucia has more than 25 years of experience in communications, marketing, and fundraising, having previously worked at Canisius High School, the Charter School for Applied Technologies, and Meals on Wheels for Western New York. He is an active member of the National Catholic Development Conference and the local chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. He is a past board member and president of the Buffalo Niagara Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and a former board member and chair of the Greater Buffalo Counseling Centers Inc.
